Consultations Underway
We are now well into the development phase of the project…despite the challenges of Covid a wide range of consultation has been undertaken including virtual meetings with volunteers, surveys of train users, surveys to the local community and a staff and volunteer survey all of which will help to inform current perceptions and future possibilities – providing essential evidence to inform the project Round 2 application.
The design team managed what was described by one of them as “the best start up meeting ever” when we took them, covid safely, on a train with Ian Wilkinson. Dafydd Gwyn and Stephen Greig explaining various aspects of the railway. Further visits since then to look at the site in more detail and to visit key stations means that they are getting a good feel for what the railway is all about to inform the design work.
The next key stage during development is the mid-development review by the National Lottery Heritage Fund when we have to have completed to RIBA 2 (concept design) and produced early drafts of many of the documents needed for the bid. NLHF need to be assured that the project is on track before we can progress the detailed design work (RIBA 3).
We will be consulting on the RIBA 2 work and will put relevant documents up on this website for anyone who is interest to look at and comment on in early December.
