Jim Embrey
Interpretation Officer
The Interpretation Officer is Jim Embrey, who has worked in interpretation and tourism throughout his career, which began in the Canadian Rockies, where he was a guide on coach tours. He has experience in tourism development, tour development, Lottery projects, and technical and recreational writing. He has lived in Gwynedd since 1998 and has been involved in a social enterprise in his home village for the last several years.
Jim is based in Harbour Station and will be leading on the Interpretation parts of the project, from working with volunteers to collect peoples’ stories and undertake new research in the archives, to putting physical interpretation in place at the stations and halts, culminating with the start of guided tours of Boston Lodge in 2024. He will also line manage the Interpretation Trainee, Millie Rathbone, who has now started.
